Real Worlds - Environment ('Main Building + Street Furniture') Thumbnails

The main character in my game, is the enforcer so I wanted to focus on creating an environment that's linked to their faction. This led me to creating concepts based on police stations due to the enforcers taking on a similar role in this universe.

Main Building and 'Street Furniture' Thumbnails

Sam had advised that I should look into exploring interior spaces like corridors similar to Alien Isolation (SEGA, 2014) to really bring out the horror element in my game. This led me to explore some basic blueprint design and internal space design.

I asked Sam to help me make a decision on my door designs. He commented that he liked 28 and 29 due to the asymmetry. Since visuals are important in a police station, he suggested making 28 a sliding door so the entire right side could be made of bullet proof glass. This feedback led me to make thumbnails 31 - 33.

Before I started designing the computer, Sam told me to have a look at the radios builders use and some of the shapes are quite interesting and sci - fi like. I created thumbnails 34 - 38 with this in mind. I got some feedback from Sam saying that he likes the border of 37. For 36, he said the design would benefit from being asymmetrical and to remove the mouse. I got some feedback from a friend over discord that also shared the same opinion for 36.

This led me to created thumbnail 39.

I created some thumbnails exploring the security system in the hallway. This led to me looking at different security designs. Once again, I had asked Sam for some feedback. Both me and him agreed that the gun was a bit too much and that the camera should be mounted on the ceiling. For the shape, thumbnail 40 looked the best design. To break up the shape on the bottom a bit, he suggested creating a infra red ball/ stick. I had modelled thumbnail 40 after the drones used by the enforcers. I created thumbnails 44 and 45 focusing on how security cameras are attached to the ceiling.
