3D Toolkit - Base Mesh (02/11/24)

Here is my first attempt at sculpting my own base mesh in ZBrush.

I started out by using a sphere to create the main torso. I used the move tool to create the shape and then I smoothed it out. I made sure symmetry was enabled.

I then inserted another sphere and used the move tool to make the pelvis. I also made sure the torso was masked so I didn't accidentally alter it when moving the pelvis.

Once I did that, I merged both subtools and used dynamesh to join them together. I then smoothed it out.

I then inserted a cylinder and mirrored it. I used the move and smooth tool to try and shape the top part of the legs.

I wanted to merge the legs with the rest of the model but I also still wanted to be able to alter them without effecting the torso. To solve this issue, I used polygroups. This meant that when I joined it with dynamesh, I could isolate the polygroup with the legs and change it without changing the rest.

I then used spheres to make the shape of the knees and shoulders. I used the transpose tools to make sure I had placed them where I wanted.

I shaped the knees using the move tool. I then inserted a cylinder to create the lower half of the legs. I used the move tool to shape them and I dynameshed them all together. I went over all the limbs with the smooth tool

Using the same method I used for the legs, I created the arms.

I inserted a sphere and used the move tool to create the head. I dynameshed everything together and smoothed it out. I was unsure what to do to make the hands and feet so I decided that I'd so some research before I attempt it.
